Thur 17th / Fri 18th – Work through Mock Paper 4H

LEARNING
OBJECTIVE: TO Get more exam question practice to revise weak areas of higher paper

SUCCESS
CRITERIA: You will be able to gain your target grade or higher in this exam.

LESSON: Questions as a class on any problems from paper studied during the week.

Students work on their own papers, with support from each other and myself as needed.

Take some loop cards in for Level B for students to practice in specific areas.

PLENARIES: Checking answerst o questions, small group teaching of specific questions/topics. Extra question practice in specific areas using loop cards and/or text book.

LEARNING OBJECTVIE: TO be able to solve problems when triangles are NOT right angled

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will know when, and how to use the Sine rule to solve problems, you will know when, and how to use the Cosine rule to solve problems.

ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY:
Sine Rule Problems to Have a Go At

LESSON: Use above problems to revise Sine Rule.

If Sine Rule questions are being solved fairly easily move onto Cosine Rule using this lesson.

Mon Apr 16th – Trigonometry, Sine, Rule, Cosine Rule

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: TO revise Trigonometry including Sine rule and introduce the cosine rule

SUCCESS CRITERIA: Students Will be able to solve exam problems involving triangles

ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: How high is that tree?

LESSON: Collect in homework – two past papers

Get as much as possible out of students regards their knowledge and understanding of trigonometry(SOHCAHTOA and Sine Rule)

Look at some problems on IWB Pages 56 & 57 of this document.

If time introduce the cosine rule as well, using this lesson.

Continue to work through Ex 18 A Q 6 Onwards.

EXTENSION WORK: Have a go at the A* questions on page 396
