Thur 12th Jan - Mean, mode and Median from Histograms

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: To understand how to generate a Frequency table from a Histogram and use that to find mean, median and mode.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to find mean, Median and Mode from a Histogram

STARTER: Can you work out the following values:

  1. Half way between 14 and 17
  2. 1/3 third of the way between 15 and 18
  3. 2/3 of the way between 15 and 18
  4. 1/6 of the way between 14 and 17
  5. 2/5 of the way between 12 and 20
  6. 3/5 of the way between 20 and 50
  7. 2/7 of the way between 10 and 30
  8. 3/8 of the way between 30 and 50
  9. 13/45 of the way between 50 and 70
  10. 17/60 of the way between 40 and 80

LESSON: Use question 5(b) on page 20 to work through a full problem.

Students then to have a go at question 5c ,6 7, ....
